BLOOMINGTON, ILL – October 29, 2021 – The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) is proud to sponsor The Fighting Illini’s fall sports line-up, including the Illini vs Rutgers game this Saturday, October 30. The ISA pregame hospitality tent, which opens at 9am and will be located at the Southeastern quadrant of Grange Grove, directly West of Memorial Stadium, will welcome all friends, Illinois farmers, and ISA colleagues for free food, drinks, and ISA giveaways.

“The Illinois Soybean Association checkoff program is thrilled to sponsor The Fighting Illini this fall, using our opportunity to send out messages to fans about the many benefits of Illinois soybeans and the role of 43,000 soybean farmers who have made Illinois the #1 soy-producing state in the U.S.,” says ISA At-Large Board Director and farmer from Kankakee, Jeff O’Connor. “In fact, the University of Illinois team is traveling on a bus fueled by biodiesel this fall.”

The ISA “Soy Is Good” campaign messaging, emblazoned across the Memorial Stadium campus, tells the story that products made from soybeans get the job done – responsibly, economically, sustainably. And that from plastics to hand sanitizers to fuel, soy plays a big role in our everyday lives.

The Illinois Soybean Association is committed to developing new markets and new uses for Illinois soy, ensuring the greatest return for farmers, and an appreciation for this homegrown, renewable resource. Through research, market and trade development, legislative acts, promotion and outreach, ISA is committed to uncovering opportunities that give farmers the most ROI on their checkoff dollars.

Adds O’Connor, “While ISA will be rooting for The Fighting Illini this fall, our goal is to grow awareness for our industry, and send the message that soybeans are Illinois’ true homecourt advantage.”

The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) checkoff and membership programs represent more than 43,000 soybean farmers in Illinois. The checkoff funds market development and utilization efforts while the membership program supports the government relations interests of Illinois soybean farmers at the local, state, and national level, through the Illinois Soybean Growers (ISG). ISA upholds the interests of Illinois soybean producers through promotion, advocacy, and education with the vision of becoming a market leader in sustainable soybean production and profitability.
