The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) LEAD Program is your gateway to advancing Illinois agriculture and shaping the future of farming. Designed for aspiring leaders and seasoned experts, LEAD provides tailored opportunities for growth, collaboration, and impact.

The purpose of the LEAD Program is to foster leadership across all stages of the agricultural journey. Participants will:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the soybean supply chain, from seed to consumer.
  • Explore the benefits of the soy checkoff and its role in Illinois agriculture.
  • Build skills to inspire and mentor future leaders in the industry.

  • Who: College graduates, those with some farming experience
  • Purpose: Deep dive into soybean supply, processing and end-user impact
  • Activities: Group discussions, mentoring and leadership opportunities
  • Commitment: 3 years, 6-8 meetings annually
  • Outcomes: Certification and advancement to the Ambassadors program
  • Who: Seasoned advocates and post-career professionals
  • Purpose: Share expertise, mentor others and provide strategic insights
  • Activities: Mentoring, ISA meetings and value chain discussions
  • Commitment: Permanent membership, 1-3 meetings annually
  • Outcomes: Awards recognition for lifetime contributions
