BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – March 10, 2022 – The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) checkoff program in partnership with Premier Cooperative is rewarding you for filling your tank with biodiesel.

During the month of March, the first 150 farmers who purchase 400 gallons or more of B11 or higher will receive a personalized farm sign, which displays farm name and date of establishment. Premier Cooperative’s current fuel customers were notified of the giveaway via mailing insert.

“Premier Cooperative is excited to partner with ISA on this farm sign giveaway program,” said Garrett Bruns, Energy Manager for Premier Cooperative. “We weren’t sure how much curiosity the mailers would garner, but we have had a great response thus far.”

Today’s biodiesel quality is better than ever, boasting economic and environmental benefits, and promoting an immediate return on investment for farmers who adopt biodiesel into their daily lives.

“ISA is proud to collaborate with partners like Premier Cooperative for initiatives like this. It’s important to leverage our relationships with farmers and their retailers to encourage the use of biodiesel on the farm since it helps put money right back into farmers’ own pockets,” said Andrew Larson, ISA Director of Market Development.

Following ‘Slow Your Roll,’ an article in the January issue of ISA’s Field & Bean Magazine that featured Premier Cooperative, Bruns reported that it caught the attention of a handful of customers that have since made the switch over to biodiesel.

“After the Illinois Field & Bean article came out, we received a lot of questions regarding how we handle biodiesel and what it can do for the customer. We believe in the product and the programs that support it. The farm sign giveaway is just another way to stand behind the consumption of biodiesel and keep agriculture strong,” said Bruns.

The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) checkoff and membership programs represent more than 43,000 soybean farmers in Illinois. The checkoff funds market development and utilization efforts while the membership program supports the government relations interests of Illinois soybean farmers at the local, state, and national level, through the Illinois Soybean Growers (ISG). ISA upholds the interests of Illinois soybean producers through promotion, advocacy, and education with the vision of becoming a market leader in sustainable soybean production and profitability.
