GRASSLAND CONSERVATION RESERVE PROGRAM SIGNUP 

The USDA announced that agricultural producers and private landowners can sign up for the Grassland Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) through May 26, 2023. Grassland CRP allows producers and landowners to continue grazing and haying practices while conserving grasslands.

"TASTE OF FARM LIFE” EVENT 

ISA and Midwest Dairy are excited to present Taste of Farm Life at Clavin Dairy Farms on June 10, 2023. Guests are invited to bring the whole family for tours, food, and fun while experiencing what farm life is all about. This event is free; lunch will be provided and accessible parking is available. 

“BEHIND THE BEAN”

ISA has partnered with Blake Noland and Birddog Workforce Scouting to share career opportunities in agriculture with students in high school, trade school, and community college programs. Noland has created “Behind the Bean,” a series of educational videos that feature various participants who provide authentic expectations of industry careers.

MATCH MADE IN HEAVEN: LIVESTOCK + CROPS SURVEY  

“Match Made in Heaven: Livestock + Crops” is a partnership between crop and livestock associations, universities, public agencies, and soil and water groups who are conducting a survey to help guide the development of future resources. Find more information and a link to the survey below.

Illinois State University and Western Illinois University are working on a joint cover crop research project funded by the Illinois Nutrient Research and Education Council. The goal is to study nitrogen and phosphorus efficiency, carbon sequestration opportunities, and economic impact of diverse cover crops.
