This week, Illinois Soybean Growers (ISG) directors and staff traveled to Washington, D.C. to meet with members of the Illinois delegation to promote ISG legislative priorities which include the 2023 Farm Bill, the importance of inland waterways improvements, biofuels, and other issues that impact Illinois farmers.
The annual Illinois Agricultural Legislative Day was held at the Illinois State Capitol building in Springfield this week where representatives from agricultural organizations had the opportunity to meet with state lawmakers. ISG directors and staff members were in attendance, using the opportunity to speak with legislators about the important role Illinois soy plays in the state and global economy.
The Master Farmer award has been described as Illinois agriculture’s lifetime achievement award. This year, Ron Moore, a past ISA Chairman, was one of the recipients. To learn more about Ron, his family and life on his farm, check out this video from Farm Progress Daily.
Young farmers are our future, and no state’s future in agriculture is brighter than that of Illinois. ISA is excited to discover the 2023 class of Illinois 20 Under 40 Farmers. Let’s recognize and promote our next generation of ag leaders by nominating them to be an Illinois 20 Under 40 farmer by Friday, March 31.
The Leopold Conservation Award recognizes agricultural landowners who inspire others with their dedication to ethical land, water and wildlife habitat management. In Illinois, the award is presented by Illinois Corn and ISA. Apply or nominate by Saturday, April 1.
The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) checkoff and membership programs represent more than 43,000 soybean farmers in Illinois. The checkoff funds market development, soybean production and government relations efforts, while the membership program, Illinois Soybean Growers (ISG) and the Illinois Soybean Growers PAC actively advocates for positive and impactful legislation for farmers at local, state and national levels.
