BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – AUGUST 2, 2023 – The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) is pleased that Michael Whitmer has joined the team as Director of Marketing Communications.

Whitmer holds a master’s degree in Advertising and Marketing from Webster University and has over two decades of experience in marketing and communication management. In his new role, Whitmer will be responsible for advancing marketing functions within ISA, and leading a core team of communications professionals and to drive strategy across the organization.

As Director of Marketing Communications for ISA, Michael will be primarily focused on building the visibility of and the appreciation for Illinois soy and soybean farm families. In this role, he looks forward to using his enthusiasm, growth mindset and curiosity to foster collaboration, creativity and ingenuity across teams that will drive a positive impact for Illinois soybean farmers and the agricultural community.

The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) checkoff and membership programs represent more than 43,000 soybean farmers in Illinois. The checkoff funds market development, soybean production and government relations efforts, while the membership program, Illinois Soybean Growers (ISG) and the Illinois Soybean Growers PAC actively advocates for positive and impactful legislation for farmers at local, state and national levels. ISA upholds the interests of Illinois soybean farmers through promotion, advocacy, research and education with the vision of becoming a trusted partner of Illinois soybean farmers to ensure their profitability now and for future generations.
