ISA SOYBEAN PRODUCTION COMMITTEE VISITS AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS
The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) Soybean Production Committee board and staff traveled to the Netherlands last week with the goal of understanding European agricultural technology and climate regulations. Tour stops included Danone, Dutch Farms, the Port of Rotterdam, and Wageningen University.
Marquis received the necessary permits for its Marquis South Dock Expansion project on the Illinois River in Hennepin, Ill. The new 700-foot loading dock on the mile-long riverfront will allow the export of twenty barges of soy meal from the complex each week, approximately 1.5 million tons each year.
American Soybean Association (ASA) President Daryl Cates and representatives Stan Born, Rob Shaffer and Jered Hooker, World Intiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH) Chair Roberta Simpson-Dolbeare, and ISA Government Relations staff members attended meetings with various Illinois legislators while in Washington D.C. last week for an ASA Board Meeting.
ISA and IL Corn have teamed up to offer the second annual FFA Water Testing Challenge, where participants can learn about the Illinois Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy and practices that can reduce nutrient loss.
