International Markets Specialist

Caitlyn Abbey is the International Markets Specialist for the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA). In her role, she works to establish relationships with Chicago based consulates and business groups by attending various events. Abbey also assists the International Markets Manager in hosting farm and industry visits with international trade teams.

Abbey has over five years of international agriculture experience focused on food security and development. Her career began in sales in the automotive industry in Detroit and moved toward international development when she was a Peace Corps volunteer in Madagascar for two years. Abbey holds a Master of Science degree in Environmental Science and Policy from Clark University.

The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) checkoff and membership programs represent more than 43,000 soybean farmers in Illinois. The checkoff funds market development, soybean production and government relations efforts, while the membership program, Illinois Soybean Growers (ISG) and the Illinois Soybean Growers PAC actively advocates for positive and impactful legislation for farmers at local, state and national levels. ISA upholds the interests of Illinois soybean farmers through promotion, advocacy, research and education with the vision of becoming a trusted partner of Illinois soybean farmers to ensure their profitability now and for future generations.
