Stephen Sostaric is Legislative Coordinator for the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA). He works with ISA’s Senior Director of Government Affairs and ISA’s Director of Public Policy and Market Development, with a focus on transportation issues. These issues include the maintenance of Illinois’ transportation system, which plays a vital role in getting Illinois soybeans to market. Additionally, he works with ISA’s Soybean Premiums program, connecting producers with buyers for premium and specialty soybeans. Based in the Chicago office, Sostaric is the main point of contact for ISA activities around the city.
Sostaric earned his bachelor of arts in geography from Syracuse University and master of urban planning at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He previously was public outreach & communications coordinator/ regional planner with the Northwestern Indiana Regional Planning Commission, where he was responsible for coordinating and tracking agency public outreach activities, including promotion, documentation and meetings. He was also point person for safety projects funded through the Highway Safety Improvement Program.
In his free time, Sostaric enjoys traveling, especially to National Park Service properties, photography and continually improving his baking and cooking skills.
