Join the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) for the Illinois Field of Beans BBQ Grand Slam! This professional BBQ competition series consists of four events within the larger Kansas City Barbeque Society Competition Circuit and will judge competitors on three categories: chicken, pork, and ribs.
The winner of the Illinois Field of Beans BBQ Grand Slam will be announced at the “Praise the Lard” BBQ Competition on September 21.
1st Place: $1,500 and a legendary blown glass apple
2nd Place: $1,200
3rd Place: $1,000

“With a majority of U.S. soybeans produced being used as a high-quality protein source for animal feed, it’s only fitting we sponsor Illinois’ premier barbecue competitions,” said ISA Domestic Markets Manager Tim Rendall.
Participation in any event enters you into the Grand Slam:
- July 27-28: Smokin’ on Main – Collinsville, IL
- August 17-18: Smoke N for the Kids – Troy, IL
- September 14-15: Trekking for CDH – Pierron, IL
- September 20-21: Praise the Lard – Murphysboro, IL (GRAND FINALE)
These events are open to the public, so those not competing are encouraged to bring along friends and family.
