Government Relations

Objectives

The Illinois Soybean Association, representing 43,000 soybean farmers across the state, is committed to the following state and federal policy priorities in 2023. The policies were reviewed and approved by the Government Relations Committee during the December 2022 ISB/ISG board meeting.

Brad Daugherty

Chairman

Brad Daugherty is the ISA Government Relations Committee Chairman, the district 14 director and serves on the Governance Committee. He produces corn, soybeans, wheat, seed corn and green beans near West Union, Illinois. Daugherty has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois in Agriculture Economics and Farm Management. He is a past president of the Hutsonville School Board and has volunteered in other leadership roles for the Clark County Farm Bureau, Mill Creek Park District, First Baptist Church of West Union and York Township Board. He was honored as a Master Farmer in 2003, and is an Agriculture Leaders of Tomorrow graduate. He also works as a hunter safety instructor. He and his wife, Debbie, have two children.
