About

Ryan Frieders represents District 1 for the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA), sits on the Government Relations Committee, and is an American Soybean Association (ASA) director. He farms with his wife and four children in Waterman, Illinois, where they produce soybeans, corn, hay and cattle. A graduate of the University of Illinois, Frieders completed IALF’s Ag Leadership Program in 2008, and Texas A&M’s TEPAP in 2020. Other accomplishments include being a DuPont Young Leader, Illinois SoyLeader, REAP Participant and Farmweek Cropwatcher. Frieders is a former member of the Indian Creek School Board and is currently a member of the DeKalb County Farm Bureau, DeKalb County Adopt a Highway, and St. Mary Catholic Church.

The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) checkoff and membership programs represent more than 43,000 soybean farmers in Illinois. The checkoff funds market development, soybean production and government relations efforts, while the membership program, Illinois Soybean Growers (ISG) and the Illinois Soybean Growers PAC actively advocates for positive and impactful legislation for farmers at local, state and national levels. ISA upholds the interests of Illinois soybean farmers through promotion, advocacy, research and education with the vision of becoming a trusted partner of Illinois soybean farmers to ensure their profitability now and for future generations.
