About

Jonathan Griffel is the District 12 Director for the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) and is a member of the Market Development and Finance committees. Jon is a sixth-generation family farmer in Macoupin County where he farms alongside his dad, raising soybeans, corn, wheat, and a beef cattle herd. He resides on the farm with his wife, Kristin, and their two children. Jon also works as a real estate broker.

He also currently serves on the Illinois Farm Bureau State Young Leader Committee and has completed the Agriculture Leaders of Tomorrow program. In 2024, Jon was honored to serve as an Illinois Farm Families Ambassador and was humbled to be named an Illinois Soybean Association “20 Under 40” winner.

The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) checkoff and membership programs represent more than 43,000 soybean farmers in Illinois. The checkoff funds market development, soybean production and government relations efforts, while the membership program, Illinois Soybean Growers (ISG) and the Illinois Soybean Growers PAC actively advocates for positive and impactful legislation for farmers at local, state and national levels. ISA upholds the interests of Illinois soybean farmers through promotion, advocacy, research and education with the vision of becoming a trusted partner of Illinois soybean farmers to ensure their profitability now and for future generations.
