Director
James “Jim” Martin is a fifth-generation farmer in Pontiac, Illinois, where he produces soybeans and corn. He is the District 7 Director, a member of the Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) Soybean Production and Finance Committees, an American Soybean Association (ASA) Director, and sits on the Heartland Community College Ag Advisory Board. Martin has a bachelor’s degree in ag industries from the University of Illinois and attended Illinois Valley Community College. Along with farming, he operates an independent insurance agency and income tax service and holds the Chartered Life Insurance Underwriter designation from the American College of Pennsylvania. He previously was an ASA DuPont Young Leader and Illinois SoyLeader. He and his wife, Lisa, have two children.
