The tour will consist of different stops in the Ottawa area focused on how Illinois soybeans move through the transportation system. Participants will visit facilities involved in grain handling and river transportation and learn more about how soy moves from the farm to domestic and international markets.
The tour will provide an opportunity to hear from industry professionals and learn about the role of trucks, rail and waterways in moving Illinois soybeans. It will also offer a chance to connect with other young farmers and agricultural leaders. A light breakfast and lunch will be provided.
