2025 20 Under 40 Farmer
About
Ali Gibbs of Benson, Illinois, is a sixth-generation farmer carrying on her family’s legacy that began in 1854. Today, Ali farms beside her husband while advocating for the future of small family farms. Ali is very involved in policy efforts, working with the Illinois Farm Bureau and state representatives on initiatives like the Family Farm Preservation Act. For her, leadership in agriculture means showing up, speaking up, and ensuring that the voices of family farmers in Illinois are heard. Inspired by stories from her late grandfather’s farming journey and guided by her father’s perspective on resilience, Ali believes collaboration and advocacy are key to keeping farming strong for generations to come.
