Tyler Deal of Danvers, Illinois farms corn and soybeans with his dad while also running DealAg Solutions, a seed and crop consulting business he launched in 2020, and an insurance agency focused on farm and crop coverage. His leadership extends beyond his own acres – through DealAg, Tyler helps neighboring farmers improve efficiency, adopt progressive practices, and find long-term success. He notes that one of the things that makes agriculture in Illinois unique is the diversity in not just the crops farmed, but also the ground. While Tyler recognizes that he has the opportunity to farm some of the best farm ground in Illinois, farmers just 30 minutes away from him are farming in sand, highlighting just how diverse Illinois agriculture is. Inspired by his two grandfathers and his father, Tyler is committed to carrying on the family legacy while also building his own path in agriculture. He hopes his role in agriculture inspires young people to step out into their communities and not be afraid to start their own businesses and do something outside of farming to help their neighbors.
