2025 20 Under 40 Farmer

About

In Altamont, Illinois, Logan Hill farms alongside his grandfather, continuing a family tradition he has been a part of since childhood. Raising corn, soybeans, and beef, Logan has managed his own operation since the age of 18, learning firsthand the challenges and rewards of farming. He also works with Droptine Outdoor Services, blending his love for the outdoors with work building trails and a habitat for hunters. For Logan, leadership means asking questions, sharing knowledge, and embracing innovation. Inspired by his grandparents, he carries the responsibility of being the sole grandchild committed to keeping the family farm going, with hopes of one day passing it down to his daughter. He believes agriculture’s future depends on encouraging more young people to take the leap into farming and sees value in showing others that progress comes from persistence, collaboration, and the willingness to ride farming’s inevitable roller coaster.
