As a seventh-generation corn and soybean farmer from Piatt County, Illinois, Jeff Gregg is deeply committed to carrying on both his own family’s tradition and the heritage of the landowners he farms for – some of whom have owned their land for over 150 years. Jeff farms alongside his wife Brianna, his brother Jared and sister-in-law Lori, and his parents. For him, leadership means humility, surrounding himself with trusted experts, and ensuring the success of everyone involved. Inspired heavily by his father, Jeff says he was taught to prioritize “the stewardship of the land and the responsibility that we have as farmers and tenants to carry on the heritage of the people that we farmed for”. Looking to the future, Jeff sees opportunity in expanding domestic markets, advancing autonomy, and embracing new technologies while preserving the lessons of past generations. He views his role as both a responsibility and a privilege: to sustain family legacies while preparing the way for the next generation.
