President Joe Biden Visits Illinois Soybean Farm, Announces Fresh Supports for American Farmers

Yesterday, President Joe Biden spent time on a family farm in Kankakee, Illinois, belonging to Illinois soybean farmer and Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) Board Director, Jeff O’Connor. There, he announced his administration’s three-pronged plan of action to support American farmers, reduce food prices and feed the world. These administrative flexibilities implemented by USDA could include: double cropping insurance expansion, technical assistance for precision ag and domestic fertilizer support.

Teacher Appreciation Week Giveaway |
To celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, the Illinois Soybean Association held a giveaway with soybean resources to one deserving teacher chosen at random. This year’s winner was Amber Schnarre of Altamont who teaches second grade at Altamont Lutheran Interparish School. Thank you, teachers!

Illinois Partners on Soy-Based Scale Inhibitor for the Oil and Gas Industry |
Airable Research Lab, jointly funded by multiple soybean states, including Illinois, has developed a soy-based scale-inhibiting additive that prevents the buildup of calcium scale in water systems. The soy-based alternative inhibits mineral precipitation in wells, preventing restrictions and clogs.
