2021 ILLINOIS SOYBEAN GROWERS MEETING – REGISTER TODAY!

The annual meeting of the members of the Illinois Soybean Growers will be held Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. virtually via Zoom. All ISG members are invited to attend.

The purpose of the annual meeting is to provide reports on association activities, approve the acts and deeds of the directors and staff, and to transact such other business as may properly come before the meeting. ISG members will also have the opportunity to weigh in on the current American Soybean Association (ASA) Policy Book and propose changes and amendments that will be presented at the ASA Policy Session (held virtually in 2021.)

ONLINE ANHYDROUS AMMONIA SAFETY TRAINING PROGRAM LAUNCHED

Certified Grower Training is now available on the Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) website.  The training program can be accessed through a link posted on the website’s homepage.  It directs visitors to a portal that includes step-by-step instructions for creating a user account and viewing the training.  Other useful information such as answers to frequently asked questions and a copy of the new state anhydrous ammonia regulations   are also posted on the homepage.

IDOA ANNOUNCES DICAMBA DECISION FOR 2021 GROWING SEASON

The Illinois Department of Agriculture (IDOA) has registered the following Dicamba products for the use on soybeans for the 2021 growing season: XtendiMax with Vapor Grip Technology, Engenia Herbicide, and Tavium Plus Vapor Grip Technology. The new federal label for dicamba was issued by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) on October 27, 2020. Learn more here.

NON-GMO SOYBEAN CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

Mercaris and Benson Hill have teamed up to connect growers with a competitive acreage contract premium program. Growers must be located within 250 miles of Gibson City, have at least 150 acres available to be contracted for non-GMO soybeans in 2021, and have on-farm storage capacity. Interested growers must fill out the form here and if eligible, Mercaris will respond within 24 hours.
