Press Release

Illinois Soybean Association Names Jayne Godfrey Communications Coordinator

June 16, 2014

BLOOMINGTON, ILL -- June 16, 2014 -- The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) recently added Jayne Godfrey to its communications team.  Godfrey joins as communications coordinator and will be responsible for organizing and managing ISA communications efforts.

"We are pleased to add a new member to our communications team," says Amy Roady, ISA director of communications.  "The new role will work with our members and other consumers to strengthen our position as the number one soybean producing state."

The newly created position replaces two part-time staff members who recently retired.  Godfrey will perform such tasks as managing volunteers and outside groups, reviewing and creating communications pieces, representing ISA at farm shows and events, and communicating with producers about member and checkoff return on investment.

"I am pleased to be given this opportunity straight out of college with a company I have admired for many years," Godfrey says.  "I am excited to begin working with the team and helping Illinois soybean farmers keep Illinois soy as the most competitive in the world."

Godfrey is a recent graduate of the University of Illinois, where she earned a degree in agricultural communications and a minor in food and environmental systems.  She previously interned with Charleston|Orwig advertising agency in Hartland, Wis., and Certified Angus Beef in Wooster, Ohio.

The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) represents more than 45,000 soybean farmers in Illinois through the state soybean checkoff and membership efforts. The checkoff funds market development, soybean production and profitability research, promotion, issues management and analysis, communications and education. Membership and advocacy efforts support Illinois soybean farmer interests in local areas, Springfield and Washington, D.C. ISA programs are designed to ensure Illinois soy is the highest quality, most dependable, sustainable and competitive in the global marketplace.
