ISB Seeks Qualified Candidates for District 9 Vacancy

BLOOMINGTON, ILL – March 14, 2019 -- The Illinois Soybean Board (ISB) is seeking applications from qualified candidates to fill the District 9 board seat vacancy that includes the Illinois counties of Cass, Logan, Mason, Menard, Morgan and Sangamon. 

The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) represents the interests of more than 45,000 soybean farmers in Illinois through the state soybean checkoff and membership efforts. ISB, which is one of the entities of the ISA organization, manages and invests Illinois soybean checkoff funds. 

Board members serve a term of three years and are eligible for up to two terms. The current term for this board seat expires in July 2020 at which time the director may choose to run for two additional three-year terms. Eligibility to serve requires candidates be Illinois residents of legal voting age that contribute to the soybean checkoff and residents within the district.

The ISA board is comprised of 18 district directors and six at-large directors. The average board member devotes 30 days per year attending functions representing ISA.
