ISA Introduces “Summer of Soy” Event Series, Including Free Family Movie Night at The Devon Amphitheater

BLOOMINGTON, ILL –  June 3, 2022 – The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) invites you to join us for a free family movie night Thursday, June 23 at The Devon Amphitheater in Decatur, Illinois. We’ll be featuring the movie “Field of Dreams,” and sharing messages about the many everyday uses of soy from Illinois.

This event is the first of ISA’s “Summer of Soy” event series lineup. The second premiere event is a Cornbelters Stadium takeover baseball game which will be held July 29 in Normal, IL. Go Soy Sluggers!

“We’re thrilled to begin our Summer of Soy event lineup in the Decatur community – home of some of the biggest soy processors in the world,” says ISA Director of Communications, Rachel Peabody. “Soy City is known for its strong agricultural roots and its rich history as a soy manufacturing giant, not just within the state but globally.”

More than 43,000 soybean farmers across the state of Illinois contribute to the state’s economy and generate positive community impacts. The Summer of Soy event campaign is designed to create greater understanding and appreciation for soy-based products, and the Illinois soybean farmers behind them, while providing summertime fun for community members across the state.

The ISA Movie Night at The Devon will include complimentary coloring books for children in attendance. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for comfortable terrace seating. Gates will open at 7PM, the movie will begin at 8:30PM. No tickets are required for entry.

Says Peabody, “We hope to see lots of friends come out for an evening of lakeside fun and entertainment the whole family will enjoy.”
