SEPTEMBER IL FIELD & BEAN ISSUE TALKS ILSOYADVISOR
The September issue of Illinois Field & Bean, on its way to mailboxes across the state, is dedicated to promoting ILSoyAdvisor as a resource for providing actionable, timely agronomic advice. Readers will enjoy articles focused on developing pre and post harvest strategies, exploring everything from farm safety and fertility management, to moisture considerations and combine adjustments, to support farmers as they plan for a safe, highly successful harvest season.

“First Steps to Better Soil Health” written by ISA Conservation Agronomy Manager, Abigail Peterson, provides her account of working with farmers to understand the economics and agronomics to soil health in Illinois. “A Fungus Among Us” provides new information on identifying Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS), a soil inhabiting fungus, which is a source of concern for many Illinois farmers. “Doubling Up with Soybeans” narrows in on the economic and environmental advantages to successful double crop rotations. And our “Every Farmer Has a Story” feature offers up an especially touching harvest love story between Illinois farmers, Lynn and Sally Bowman of Oneida, Illinois.
