Communications Coordinator

The Illinois Soybean Association is looking for a Communications Coordinator to execute a variety of content needs (social, digital, audio/visual, written) across the organization. This position would support the organization in both internal and external communications efforts, developing and deploying communications that include, but not limited to, presentations, social media copy, magazine articles, blogs, videos, web updates and more.

This role would heavily support ISA’s social media efforts across all platforms, including assisting with social metrics and reporting.

We are looking for a team member who can help produce and edit in-house video and podcast projects and continue to boost our multimedia offerings.

This role will act as a contributing writer to ISA’s internal publication, Illinois Field & Bean.

The communications coordinator will also assist with event planning needs as assigned.

This role would support the ISA communications content calendar and help plan message execution across the many different channels that we use to reach our audiences.

The ideal candidate can manage multiple projects with varying timelines and specific deliverables needed for each. Experience with content distribution platforms such as Mailchimp are highly desired. A graphic design skillset is highly desired.

We are looking for a passionate, dynamic communicator who enjoys connecting with a variety of different stakeholders and audiences.

Being that we represent Illinois’ 43,000 soybean farmers, we are also looking for a team member who has a deep appreciation for agriculture and the farmers that we serve.

The position would report to the Director of Communications.


This position requires a diverse communications skillset with an emphasis on social media and multimedia. Top-notch written communications skills are also required. We are looking for candidates with at least 1-3 years of relevant work experience.

A degree in communications, journalism or marketing is preferred.

Excellent communication skills and heightened attention to detail are essential.

Candidate must have the ability to work well independently, as well as in a team-based environment.

Due to the nature of the work, candidate must be able to manage multiple fast-paced projects and be a quick, proactive thinker.

Work Environment:

The position is located in Bloomington, Ill., at ISA’s home office. In-state, and some occasional out-of-state travel will be required. Some physical demands will be required and applicants should be able to lift 50 lbs.

Work Hours:

This is a full-time, salaried position. Traditional work hours will apply, but occasionally there will be evening commitments.
