Poultry Exports: Middle East
Middle Eastern countries hold great potential as a market for U.S. poultry. The Illinois Soybean Association checkoff program funds product promotions this region through the U.S.A. Poultry and Egg Export Council (USAPEEC) to encourage export growth. For example, Gulfood, an annual global trade show in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, has become a key place for U.S. food companies to connect with international customers. The USAPEEC Pavilion at this show features an upper deck, funded in part by the Illinois Soybean Association checkoff program, where exhibitor, importer and government official meetings result in export deals and progress on trade issues.
Poultry production uses nearly 64% of the soybean meal fed in the U.S. Growing demand for high-quality U.S. poultry products increases domestic soybean meal demand.
