Sharon Covert from Tiskilwa, Ill., farms with her husband, James. She is a district director for the Illinois Soybean Association and serves on the ISA Marketing Committee. She was an Illinois director for the United Soybean Board, and has served in various leadership roles for the U.S. Soybean Export Council (USSEC) and past Illinois checkoff endeavors. She presently serves USSEC as secretary and was appointed by USDA to serve on the Agriculture Trade Advisory Committee (ATAC). She has served leadership in county and state Farm Bureau programs, Bureau County Board and Health Department, local PTA and school board, and is a previous director for two bank boards. She is on the American History Museum Smithsonian Advisory Board on Agriculture. Covert attended Bradley University and is an R.N. The Coverts have three children and 10 grandchildren.
