Sustainability Showcase Farm Events

Profit-Building Practices Featured at ISA Sustainability Showcase Event

Sustainability and profitability often work hand-in-hand on Illinois farms. To help showcase the latest advances in boosting on-farm profitability while reducing environmental impact,  Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) hosted a field event at Wendte Farms near Altamont, Ill., on August 7.

Attendees heard from 11 sustainability experts, with presentations and hands-on demonstrations covering soil health improvements, cover cropping, precision planting and improved fertility, and NRCS EQIP and CSP programs. The Wendte family also discussed their farming practices that enhance and protect natural resources.
