Nominate a CCA for the Soybean Master Adviser Award

Do you know an outstanding Illinois Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) who excels in soybean management and should be recognized? Nominate him or her for the Soybean Master Adviser award, presented annually by the Illinois Soybean Association checkoff program (ISA).

Certified Crop Advisers play a significant role in soybean production in Illinois. They are a grower’s trusted adviser and offer insight and advice on production practices and strategies to improve yield and profitability. The Illinois Soybean Association recognizes the important role CCAs play in improving soybean management.

ISA, partnering with the Illinois CCA program, recruits volunteer CCAs to serve as “Soy Envoys.” They write blogs on soybean management that are posted here, ISA's agronomic-focused website. ISA is also leading an effort to expand the opportunities for CCAs to improve their knowledge and skills on soybean management. We want to recognize an individual CCA for his or her contribution to soybean production in Illinois by awarding annually a Soybean Master Adviser award.

To be eligible a nominee must be an active Illinois CCA working in areas related to soybean production. The potential nominee can serve as an agronomist for an ag retailer, distribution channels, chemical or fertilizer manufacturer, or seed company or work as an independent crop consultant.

To begin the nomination process complete the nomination form and submit it to Angel Terrell or mail it to her at the Illinois Soybean Association, 1605 Commerce Parkway, Bloomington, Ill. 61704.

As part of the nomination process you need to identify the CCA by name and address, include their CCA number, ask them a few questions and write why you feel this CCA is qualified for the Soybean Master Adviser award. Completed nominations must be received by email or postmarked on or before December 10, 2017. A panel of ISA directors and staff, Illinois CCA board members and University of Illinois staff will review the nominations. The successful nominee will be announced at the Springfield Soybean Summit on January 11.
