USS LST-325 Fueled by Biodiesel (10-18-2011) On September 1, 2011, the USS LST-325 sponsored a VIP cruise for its contributors who support biodiesel. The tour took attendees from the lock in Peoria, Ill., upriver to Henry, Ill., where the ship would be docking for the weekend.
This video - funded by the Illinois soybean checkoff - is the story of the USS LST-325 and biodiesel, both created right here in the midwest and serving America in the past, present and future.
Kenny Wallace Talks Renewable Fuels (10-8-2011) The Family Farmers coalition sponsored NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Kenny Wallace in five races during the 2011 NASCAR season. As a member of the Family Farmers High-Performance team, Wallace also served as spokesperson for renewable fuels and other initiatives. In this video, he shares his thoughts on biofuels and other bio-based products used in vehicles. These innovations - made from soybeans - helps decrease our nation's dependence on foreign oil and result in less engine wear and lower emissions. Plus, they help create jobs right here at home!
American-Grown Performance at World's Largest Truck Convoy (12-23-2009) Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) sponsored the participation of three Illinois companies in the Special Olympics World's Largest Truck Convoy on September 20, 2008. The three companies, Double D Express, Peru; Hoekstra Transportation, St. Anne; and SS Chad Express, Sigel; each promoted biodiesel through their trailers wrapped with "American-Grown Performance" graphics, which the soybean checkoff funded earlier this year. Each of these companies volunteered their trucks and their time to help support the Special Olympics Illinois.

Soybean Exhibit at Lincoln Park Zoo (12-23-2009) This is the most extensive interactive soybean exhibit in the nation. It tells a complete story of soybeans from farm to fork. Through special effects and multiple buttons and cranks, the exhibit offers children a unique opportunity to learn. They will discover what soybeans look like, where they come from, how they are produced and the global market that uses them. The exhibit is hosted at Chicago's famous Lincoln Park Zoo. It was funded through soybean checkoff dollars provided by the United Soybean Board and the Illinois Soybean Association.
Farm Progress Show 2009 Recap (12-23-2009) The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) unveiled a new exhibit at the Farm Progress Show during September 2009 in Decatur, Illinois. The exhibit encompassed three full lots and embodied the theme of Illinois Soybean Growers: A Legacy of Leadership." One of the main highlights was a new Thinkn with Lincoln interactive game, which ties in with Abraham Lincoln's 200th birthday celebration.
