2010 SUMMER RESEARCH TOUR

Day 1

University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana
Tuesday, July 20, 2010
8:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

General parking will be at the U of I South Farms.  The group will proceed by bus for the tour of the U of I.  A map will be included with directions to the south farm at the U of I.  Individuals taking the bus from U of I to Southern Illinois at Carbondale may leave their vehicles at the south farm.

Wrap Up and Depart for SIU Carbondale

For those individuals driving directly to the Holiday Inn Hotel & Conference Center in Carbondale, Illinois a map will be included with directions to the hotel.   

The bus will be making a stop at the Keller Convention Center, Effingham on the way to Carbondale.  Please let the office know if you need to be picked up at the Keller Convention Center.  The estimated time of arrival in Effingham is 3:00 p.m. 

Bus transportation will be provided from the Holiday Inn in Carbondale to dinner (location to be determined).  Participants attending the tour at SIU on July 21, 2010 are invited to dinner.  This includes soybean producers and researchers from SIU.  If you are interested in attending the dinner you must respond by Wednesday, July 14th.   

Those individuals taking the return trip to Champaign on the bus will be transported to the Agronomy Research Center at SIU.  Those individuals that are driving separately will be given directions to the Agronomy Research Center parking area, where they can leave their vehicles and take the bus to the various locations on the SIU tour.  After the conclusion of the tour at SIU they will be taken back to the parking lot at the Agronomy Research Center to retrieve their vehicles.
