International Marketing
Thanks to the increasing worldwide demand for soybeans, U.S. soybean production and exports have enjoyed record-setting results. While world demand has skyrocketed, we're facing growing competition too. Marketing efforts are key.
The Illinois Soybean Association makes both Checkoff and non-Checkoff investments in global marketing. Here's a breakdown of what we've done recently:
Checkoff Investment
- Providing much-needed soy protein to Vietnam, Honduras, Guatemala, and other poverty-stricken countries through World Initiative for Soy and Human Health (WISHH). Click on the WISHH logo to learn more.

- Developing aquaculture markets for China's offshore fish farms
- Using Checkoff dollars to capture federal dollars for market development
- *2006 WISHH Annual Report*
Non-Checkoff Investment
- Expanded international markets for agricultural products through support of Foreign Market Development and Market Access Programs
- Helped pass presidential Trade Promotion Authority for more competitive U.S. soybean exports
- Created new soy product definitions for humanitarian aid programs
