FACT |
You can't use biodiesel in cold weather. |
Biodiesel can be blended for excellent cold weather performance. |
Biodiesel doesn't provide as much power as diesel. |
Biodiesel offers enhanced power from higher cetane, plus improved lubricity for less engine wear and tear. |
Biodiesel clogs fuel filters. |
Biodiesel acts as a solvent, removing petroleum buildup and cleaning fuel filters. As the petroleum residue cycles through the engine, fuel filters may initially plug, but with petroleum buildup eliminated, performance is enhanced. |
Using biodiesel puts an engine warranty at risk. |
Using biodiesel does not void parts or materials warranties with any major U.S. engine manufacturer. |
Biodiesel doesn't perform as well as diesel. |
Biodiesel can be used in existing engines and fuel injection equipment. It has a higher cetane number than U.S. diesel fuel. Biodiesel also has superior lubricity and has the highest BTU content of any alternative fuel (falling in the range between #1 and #2 diesel fuel). |
