Industrial Uses

We are continually trying to reduce our reliance on non-renewable resources such as petroleum-based products. To do this, we need to use more environmentally friendly, renewable resources like soybeans. New products made from soybeans provide the opportunity to use millions of bushels of soybeans each year.

ISA, through funding from the Illinois soybean checkoff, is working hard to promote the benefits of soy-based products such as biodiesel and household cleaners as well as research new uses for soybeans.

Find more information about the many industrial uses of Illinois soybeans on the following pages and in our press releases.

Biodiesel
One of the checkoff's most visible successes and a clean-burning, renewable fuel.

Other Soybean Uses
Soybeans are a versatile crop and can be used for candles, solvents and many other uses.
